The M158 engine is homologated to meet the strictest environmental regulations, EU5 and LEV2. Xtrac already supplied the gearbox for the Zonda R and so it was the natural choice for the development of a new high performance gearbox.

Another vital design tenant for the Huayra project was to ensure clean airflow over the body of the car. Just one look at the aggressive bodywork of this supercar and you will be able to feel the power that is emanating from it. Even if you were to just take a test drive you would be tempted to force it to its limit and travel as fast as you could. And it would most likely be more than capable of handling this.

If you want to accelerate faster than anyone else you don't need a Bugatti. There are other cheaper cars that do the job. The Ultima GTR is one, and the Caparo T1 will be another. Maybe the SSC Ultimate Aero TT is another.

The Bugatti Veyron gets to 100 mph in about 5.5 seconds - the actual figure varies according to who timed it. However,the Ultima GTR can reach 10 mph in 5.3 seconds which is blisteringly quick - that was timed independently.

After a series of leaked magazine shots hit the internet this past weekend, Pagani today officially released its new Huayra supercar model in a rather anticlimactic way. Designed to replace the much-hyped Zonda series, Horacio Pagano's newest creation is named after the Andean god of wind, Aymara Huayra Tata.
